This is a very nice...no..better than that..this is a really nice 1997 Ford F150... automatic, with air..and clean..clean..clean! However, here's the catch..the damn motor is no good. It has the Ford 4.2 liter V6 engine..that has the nasty habit of leaking anitifreeze into the combustion chamber through the intake gaskets. After market rebuilds solve the problem with copper gaskets ..replacing the plastic gasket inserts.. So..if you are handy..you can either replace this engine..with another Ford v6..a Ford V8 ..or repairing this one. I'm told that this engine isn't "hurt' too bad..as the owner caught it immediatiely and shut it down. I would imagine, though, that it will have a bent rod..so you'll have to remove the head..the piston..replace the rod..rod bearing..and go from there. Not too bad for a decent mechanic..but at the price this little sucker's going for..I think I'd just buy a factory rebuilt..and then drive the next 100,000 miles. If I had the time..that's what I'd do..but I just don't ever find the time to do anything..Retirement does that to you!!
